- ➤ UTRGV wide receiver Tony Diaz, who earned Southland Conference Freshman of the Year honors with 875 yards and 11 touchdowns, announced his commitment to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday evening, joining a program led by Kirk Ferentz as his former team faced multiple transfer departures. KRGV
- ➤ Players from RGV East, including San Benito's Kian Jones, Weslaco's Chris Luna, and Los Fresnos' Robert Pineda, practiced Thursday night as they bonded ahead of the upcoming All-Star game. The RGV Coaches Association will hold the event (final schedule details pending). KRGV
