- ➤ A somber ceremony marked the 85th anniversary of the 1940 Alamo train crash—29 people died when a truck carrying migrant workers collided with a Missouri Pacific train—held Friday at 6 p.m. at the Landmark on the Tower and attended by city leaders, living victim families, and retired Judge Israel Ramon Jr. KRGV

- ➤ The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Martin Eden Garza, a 22-year-old wanted for drug possession last seen in Pharr, and asks anyone with information to call law enforcement (tips remain anonymous) (contact Crime Stoppers at 956-668-8477). FOX RGV
- ➤ On U.S. 281 near Edinburg, a black Chevy van rolled over and led to a chain-reaction crash when a Chevy Sonic hit a DPS unit— the trooper was uninjured while the Sonic driver was sent to the hospital, and in Pharr, 27-year-old Carla de Leone turned herself in today on a $5,000 bond after being charged with criminally negligent homicide in a fatal motorcycle crash. - ➤ Luis Gonzalez, a 22-year-old man, was arraigned today after stabbing a woman in the 2200 block of Laguna Seca in Edinburg and fleeing in her vehicle while resisting arrest—he faces aggravated assault charges with a bond set at $350,000. FOX RGV

- ➤ Economist M. Ray Perryman warns that if Congress finalizes Medicaid budget cuts, 357,586 enrollees in the Valley will face higher healthcare costs — state officials may need to cover part of the shortfall. - ➤ The UTRGV baseball team ran rules on Nicholls by scoring four runs in the third inning and having hitters Armani Raygoza and Jacob Sanchez hit home runs one after the other to secure a 13 to 2 win Friday night in Edinburg.
