- ➤ UTRGV Athletics Director Chasse Conque was named the 2025-26 NACDA Athletics Director of the Year on Monday, Mar. 16. The award recognizes his leadership in the athletics program. KRGV
- ➤ On Monday, Mar. 16, Pioneer baseball walked off a 4-3 win at the Snakeskin Classic while Lopez posted a 17-2 victory over Donna and PSJA North edged Sharyland 5-4 in tightly contested games. KRGV
- ➤ UTRGV senior pitcher Steven Oliva, who played internationally for Guatemala (in Panama and at the 2025 Central American Games), earned a spot on the NCBWA preseason stopper of the year watchlist before his final college season begins. KRGV
- ➤ UTRGV Women's basketball is set to compete in the Women's National Invitational Tournament as they face Austin Peay at 6 p.m. Thursday at F&M Bank Arena in Tennessee; this first-ever matchup is expected to boost both teams’ profiles on the national stage. KRGV
- ➤ On Monday, Mar. 16, the Weslaco Lady Panthers defeated the Alexander Lady Bulldogs 11-1 in a non-district softball game. The contest highlighted solid pitching and hitting, adding to the local team's growing momentum. KRGV
