ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Cameron County Sheriff Manuel Treviño said a 33 year old man from the Pharr area, identified as Moises Herrera, was found dead on Monday afternoon after drowning at Playa Bagdad in Matamoros—investigators are checking a social media video of two persons at Isla Blanca Park and are looking for his white Jeep Cherokee.  KRGV
  • McAllen Police reported that a fatal crash on the 3200 block of South Ware Road early Tuesday afternoon left 40-year-old off-duty Border Patrol agent Alejandro De Luna dead—occupants of a GMC pickup and the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe were treated for injuries—and the investigation remains ongoing.  MyRGV.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • The UTRGV Men’s Tennis team will face Texas A&M Corpus Christi as they try to finish the season undefeated— a win would secure their first conference title since 1965.  KRGV
  • The Boys and Girls Club of McAllen said the PONY International Softball World Series will return to the Valley from July 16th to July 20th with games in McAllen, San Juan — and Edinburg as more than 189 teams from 10 countries will compete. The event marks an increase in international participation from eight to ten teams — including entrants from Puerto Rico, The Phillippines, Mexico and China.  KRGV
