SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ UTRGV Volleyball released its conference schedule on Thursday — the Vaqueros start on September 24th at home against Lamar, then travel to Stephen F. Austin, host a Southeastern team on October 16th, play back-to-back matches on October 30th and November 1st, and end their conference play against East Texas A&M. KRGV
- ➤ UTRGV pitcher Victor Loa was named to the National Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List on Friday and posted a 5—1 record with a 1.94 ERA in nine starts while helping the Vaqueros contend for a conference title. He returned to play after a two-year recovery from a UCL tear and has earned strong trust from head coach Derek Matlock. KRGV
- ➤ UTRGV football schedule for 2025 now includes a new home game against Langston on September 13th — the change came after North American University ended its football program. Head coach Travis Bush said the shift worked out since most schedules are locked. KRGV
