- ➤ South Texas College has launched a program that lets students clear parking tickets by donating seven food or self-care items to the food pantry. The initiative, started in February, has waived fines for 90 students and will support 360 students in need. KRGV

- ➤ RGV baseball playoffs took place on Thursday, May 7 with area-round wins including Harlingen South's 2-0 victory over Rio Grande City (series lead 1-0) and Palmview's narrow 4-3 win over Nikki Rowe as local teams advanced. KRGV
