- ➤ A crowd gathered Monday morning at Mission Police Department during National Police Week to honor fallen officers from across the Rio Grande Valley. The event especially remembered Cpl. Jose Luis 'Speedy' Espericueta, killed in 2019 during a domestic disturbance, and his wife set up a scholarship fund in his honor — showing the community's lasting support. KRGV

- ➤ The National Weather Service in Brownsville warned that the Rio Grande Valley will face triple digit temperatures this week – with McAllen expected to see 102 to 103 degrees and nearby areas like Hebronville reaching 108 degrees. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ KRGV-TV kicked off its new campaign Monday to raise funds for toys and essential items for children at South Texas Health System Children's Hospital (STHS). Spokesman Tom Castañeda and KRGV Chief Meteorologist Tim Smith (who explained the campaign’s potential impact) said donations will help purchase the needed supplies. KRGV

- ➤ The Palmview Lobos advanced to the regional semifinal after defeating Nikki Rowe in a best-of-three series that ended Saturday night with a 13th inning walk-off win—now the team will play New Braunfels on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in Corpus Christi. KRGV
- ➤ UTRGV is preparing for the Southland Conference Championship Bracket Play in a double elimination tournament hosted here in the Valley. The Vaqueros will start on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. as they face the Texas A&M — Corpus Christi Islanders. KRGV
- ➤ The Palmview Lobos played nearly nine hours of baseball, winning a walk-off game that ran from 2:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. in their playoff series. The team will face New Braunfels next—senior first baseman and pitcher Jaime Cordova said the players kept battling as a team. KRGV
