- ➤ KRGV Cares Closet campaign is nearly finished with only two days left to donate — Channel 5 News reports that funds will buy toys and comfort items for children at South Texas Health Systems Children's hospital where nurse Stefanie Flores has seen the donations help families. KRGV

- ➤ The UTRGV Vaqueros beat the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders 11-8 in Southland Conference Tournament Bracket Play on Thursday evening—Thomas Williams hit a grand slam that gave the team its lead. The Vaqueros will play Houston Christian on Friday night at 6:00 p.m.—the Islanders are set to face Lamar with the loser eliminated from the tournament. KRGV
- ➤ Yesterday, May 15, PSJA defeated Westlake in extras with a score of 3 to 1 while Sharyland lost to Boerne-Champion 1 to 2—each team now leads their series 1 to 0. KRGV
