COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Representatives from Texas RioGrande Legal Aid are at select disaster recovery centers in Weslaco, Pharr, Harlingen and San Benito to help residents denied FEMA aid after the March storms by providing legal assistance for appeals and housing or unemployment issues. The centers are closed today (Juneteenth) and will reopen Friday, June 20.  KRGV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • An undocumented construction worker who has work permission said he fears ICE raids that recently detained family members and now leaves home with anxiety. His employer Berit Custom Homes reported that staffing dropped to two workers – work on four of five homes has stopped and delays are expected.  KRGV

SPORTS NEWS

  • On June 18, the West team shut out the East 10—0 at the Baseball Coaches Association of the Rio Grande Valley All-Star game in Weslaco, marking a clear win in a well-played match.  KRGV
