ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday around 4:23 p.m., a deadly crash occurred on the northbound lanes of U.S.281 near Linn when a box truck collided with a deputy patrol unit from the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office—killing the truck's driver and injuring the deputy while traffic was diverted to Texas Highway 186. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday, land in South Texas was transferred from the International Boundary and Water Commission to the General Services Administration and designated as a National Defense Area by the Pentagon—this area covers Cameron and Hidalgo counties and will be treated as an extension of Joint Base San Antonio to detain illegal crossers.
