Deputies responded early Sunday morning at around 2:16 a.m. on the 600 block of North Bentsen Palm Drive in rural Mission and found 49-year-old Armando Giovannotto with multiple stab wounds, while his domestic partner Kevin Lee Gutierrez — a 34-year-old man — fled the scene but was later detained at a La Joya residence and is now receiving treatment for wrist cuts as the investigation continues.

Quinta Mazatlán and the Valley Land Fund are launching a free Youth Nature Photo Contest for children aged 6 to 18 to take photos of nature anywhere in the Rio Grande Valley this summer.
