A woman was arrested Monday at Hidalgo port of entry after U.S. Customs officers discovered 20 yellow-headed amazon parrots hidden in her car, and she said she bought them in Mexico to sell on Facebook Marketplace while she is set to appear Tuesday in McAllen federal court.

Researchers at a meeting in Alamo, organized by the Texas A&M Colonia Program, met Tuesday to discuss future flood events in the Rio Grande Valley and stressed that bilingual warning signs can save lives.
