- ➤ A woman was arrested Monday at Hidalgo port of entry after U.S. Customs officers discovered 20 yellow-headed amazon parrots hidden in her car, and she said she bought them in Mexico to sell on Facebook Marketplace while she is set to appear Tuesday in McAllen federal court. MyRGV.com
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Researchers at a meeting in Alamo, organized by the Texas A&M Colonia Program, met Tuesday to discuss future flood events in the Rio Grande Valley and stressed that bilingual warning signs can save lives. They will study the flood risks further and urged residents to share their experiences with severe weather. KRGV

- ➤ After Tuesday’s emergency meeting, the Hidalgo County Commissioner's Court and the Hidalgo County Community Service Agency approved fast-tracking an agreement with the Concho Valley Community Action Agency to send equipment and personnel to help flood-hit areas in Central Texas. The relief team will reach Tom Green County by the end of this week—providing urgent support to affected families. KRGV
