ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fatal crash occurred Saturday at 4 p.m. on FM 2812 near Brush Line Road in Edinburg when a 2006 Toyota Tundra driven by a woman struck a concrete fence and light pole — leaving 65-year-old Jose Reyna of Hargill dead from not wearing a seatbelt — while the driver was taken to a hospital under investigation. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Christian + Alejandro Trevino will face trial in Hidalgo County on October 27th for the alleged murder of their stepfather, following the January 2022 incident that shocked the community. FOX RGV
- ➤ Gustavo Mireles, convicted in 2002 for the murder of Mary Jane Rebollar in Alamo, appeared in a Hidalgo County courtroom on Tuesday as his attorney asked the judge to review his detention (the defense said his fingerprints did not match those found at the scene) and judge Juan Ramon Alvarez (calling the request a 'huge fishing expedition') denied the motion. - ➤ A 30-year-old man with outstanding warrants for robbery and theft was arrested in San Carlos after a deputy attempted a traffic stop on Tuesday at 5:40 p.m., leading to a 15-minute chase that ended in a corn field on Rogers Road east of Highway 107 where he now faces an additional charge for evading arrest. - ➤ RGV Vipers will host their annual Back to School Expo on July 23 from 3 PM to 7 PM—offering free school supplies, vaccines, and sports physicals—and families can secure their spots using a QR code. FOX RGV
