  • Today, emergency services shut down part of Expressway 83 in Mission as they responded to an incident with police and firefighters working together—redirecting traffic—while details on injuries or the cause remain unclear.  FOX RGV

CRIME NEWS

  • Weslaco police are seeking help to locate 37-year-old Ricardo Diaz, last seen on July 14 and described as 5’7 tall and weighing 155 pounds (with tattoos of Graciela and a Houston Texans logo on his chest).  KRGV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Residents in the Rio Grande Valley have skipped doctor visits and medicine pickups out of fear that immigration raids will lead to detention—many are now missing essential checkups and prescriptions. Local clinics report fewer visitors as intensified deportation efforts add to the region’s health risks amid high rates of illness and poverty.  KRGV
