GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mission has installed emergency call stations at Lions Park, Benson Palm Community Park, and two hike and bike trails—these stations feature blue and white beacon lights and are monitored by Mission PD, who are urging parents to teach children to use them only in emergencies. The city plans to add stations in every park in the near future. FOX RGV
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ The Mission Economic Development Corporation said it will discuss offering rebates on sales—property and hotel taxes to encourage a buyer to purchase Cimarron Country Club. The agency, which took over the 200-acre property in February and set the sale price at $2.5 million, said it will soon begin closed-door negotiations based on recommendations from the city council and Cimarron Public Improvement District. - ➤ UTRGV women’s soccer held its first practice in preparation for next season. The team finished last fall with a 7-7-5 record + coach Mark Foster said a more mature group and new players will help them compete for a tournament spot. KRGV
