- ➤ On Monday, Mission Fire Department held a large controlled burn training on South Conway Avenue to practice wildland firefighting techniques and the incident command system with crews from McAllen, Palmview, and Alton. The burn, which covered over four acres and was fully contained by noon—posing no danger to nearby residents or the animal shelter, marked the department's second training this year. KRGV
