- ➤ Rosa Esthela Mora — a McAllen native and internationally recognized author — uses her life experiences to inspire readers; she published her first romance novel in 2021 and is now writing a sequel while teaching French and Spanish at Valley View ISD. Her work has earned international awards and highlights the unique cultural talent of the Valley. KRGV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Tuesday night, Weslaco beat Brownsville Pace and Los Fresnos won over Weslaco East in high school basketball games that kicked off the RGV season — a strong start for both teams — with more matchups planned ahead. KRGV
- ➤ UTRGV football will host East Texas A&M in Edinburg on Saturday at 5 p.m.-The Vaqueros, coming off their first conference road win against McNeese, want to keep their 6-0 record at home as they finish the season; coach Travis Bush said the game is very important to the team and school. KRGV
